THE RULES

Things You Need to Know

We founded Amatour Golf wanting to give our players an enjoyable, fair & rewarding golf experience in a competitive but friendly environment - playing at some really great course.

All events are open to amateur players with a bona fide handicap index of 21.0 or less, this handicap can be gained at a golf club in the normal way or via the England Golf arrangement if that comes into force in time or during the 2021 season.  Golfshake or society handicaps will not be sufficient. Players with a handicap of up to 28.0 may be allowed at some events (contact us before booking) but will have to play from index of 21 to be eligible for prizes/order of merit. All handicap indexes must be based on at least 4 WHS 'qualifying' scores in the 12 months prior to the date of the event. We may ask for evidence of qualifying scores obtained and access to your England Golf profile using the friend system.

Players without official or qualifying handicaps are welcome to casual play at events if space & club rules allow. We also operate a waiting list for all events.

Each event will be strictly limited to 40 players.

This means all players have a reasonable chance of making one of the 24 qualifying places in the grand final.

The 13 tour event winners will gain entry to final with the best 10 in the order of merit (who haven't qualified as winners). The overall order of merit winner also gets a guest space at tour finals. If there are any multiple event winners, extra places go to the order of merit for tour finals.

At the tour final, the order of merit leaderboard will dictate starting points, eg the overall winner gets 5 points start, with decreasing points start as you go down the OOM.

Handicaps will be adjusted after each event (and after first day of 2 day events), you may need to submit cards via your home club.

Players can play together with friends and request preferred times but in general, all tee times are drawn. On day 2 of two-day events, players are generally grouped in reverse order with leaders in the last groups.

All live leaderboards/apps are for information purposes only, final positions only confirmed after verification of scores through cards and handicap checks. The organiser's decision is final.

2's Super Pot. All 2's scored during the course of the tour will be entered into the draw for the single top prize (same prize as main tour winner). The overall tour winner WILL NOT BE eligible to win 2's super pot. Each 2 scored is one entry to draw, with 3 bonus entries for each NTP winner, any hole in one gets 10 bonus entries.

The draw will be filmed live and streamed on Facebook within 72 hours of end of the Grand Final event.

The 2's super pot prize is dependent on minimum of 24 players at each of the 13 events (total of 312 competitors). In the unlikely event that numbers are less than this the 2's pot will be paid pro-rata.

We will operate within all applicable Covid-19 rules in force at the time and location of events. If any event needs to be postponed due to circumstances beyond our control, a credit will be given for the rearranged event or alternative event at a different course of the same or similar value.

Any Covid-19 related cancellations will entitle you to a full refund

If any event is cancelled due to weather - we will endeavor to re-arrange - if not possible then a credit is given for a casual round - all subject to individual course T&Cs.

Pace of play is always important, as a Stableford competition, we encourage players to pick up when unable to score.

Provisional balls- we will adopt local rule E-5 as an alternative to stroke & distance.
